Structural Design Engineer


We are currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer for our client in Scunthorpe. This is a full time position for an initial 6 month period, to be reviewed thereafter.

The Structural Design Engineer will be working within a Technical Engineering Design Services department providing specialist advice in structural engineering to the Plant Engineer and across the clients' site. You will be required to investigate plant based structural issues and prepare, detailed designs, specifications, drawings and contract documents to provide the appropriate solutions.

The design engineer will ensure that business standards regarding safety, technical performance, quality, finance and programme are maintained.


  • Site measuring/surveys
  • Production of 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD or Microstation software.
  • Production of 3D CAD drawings using Solidworks software.
  • Must be capable of producing layout and detail fabrication structural drawings, including identifying materials and assembly procedures.
  • Structural engineering calculations – not essential


  • HNC/HND in structural engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years structural engineering experience, preferable in a heavy engineering environment.
  • Must be competent in the use of AutoCAD, Solidworks and computer design software.
  • Experience in the use of STAAD and CSC Tedds software and experience in providing engineering design structural calculations would be advantageous.

Instrument Engineer


We are seeking an Instrument Engineer for a long term contract role at a petrochemical site near Immingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a degree qualified Instrument Engineer.

The contract will be offered for an initial period of 12 months, after which time the role and requirement will be re-assessed.

Basic Accountabilities

The provision of measurement, control and safety system engineering support to enable:-

  • Compliance with corporate Required Standards for SIS / Instrumented IPL's
  • BS EN 61511 compliance activities
  • Development of PHA/HAZOP/LOPA improvement actions related to Instrumentation
  • Closure of Health and Safety Executive action items including COMAH safety report updates.


  • Conduct Functional Safety Assessments and Audits
  • Assist with the closure of existing open FSA actions
  • Develop the Functional Safety competency framework and assist with assessment process
  • Develop / Implement maintenance plans / strategies associated with new PHA / LOPA
  • Conduct initial screening of PHA action items and where relevant develop project scope
  • Produce specifications, calculations and cost estimates as required supporting assigned projects


  • Working knowledge and experience of Safety Instrumented Systems design and management activities
  • Working knowledge and experience of Instrumentation maintenance practises / techniques
  • Ability to understand technical documentation (Loop diagrams, C&E, P&ID's)
  • Establishes priorities and manages multiple parallel critical tasks
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated team worker with an eye for detail
  • Ability to use MS office tools including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Previous experience with SAP PM modules preferred
  • Engineering Degree in an Electrical, Electronic or Control subject.
  • Member of the InstMC, IET or IChemE
  • Chartered Engineer preferred
  • Functional Safety Engineer certification e.g TUV FS Eng

Administrator - PHA Scribe


We are seeking an Administrator – PHA Scribe for a client based near Immingham, North East Lincolnshire.  This is a part time, contract position – the candidate will be required to cover the PHA Schedule and will change yearly.  2018 will require approx. 31 weeks @ 40 hours.  In 2019 an estimated 40 weeks will be required.  The role offers an excellent working environment for the successful candidate.


  • To provide PHA Scribe administration within the HSE Department
  • Provide efficient scribe administration in support of annual PHA Study programme
  • Effective and accurate collation of information for data entry into Pro 8 PHA software
  • Data entry into IMPACT system any subsequent Action Items following studies
  • Reliability to adhere to annual study dates
  • Flexibility is vital to accommodate programme amendments
