Project Engineer - Mechanical / C&I

We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage the replacement of Emergency Diesel Generators across a power station site.

The role is for a mechanically biased engineer, with knowledge of control and instrumentation.

The position is offered on an initial 12 month basis, with the possibility of a long term opportunity following successful completion of the initial contract.


  • Mechanical bias with C&I knowledge preferred
  • Knowledge of diesel generators commissioning and operation
  • Understanding of technical project management / engineering
  • Oil & Gas experience desirable
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
  • Degree qualified is an advantage but not essential.

This is a predominantly office-based position, site time is required but this is not a physical job.

The role can be offered as either a PAYE or Ltd Company basis.  The hours of work are 37 per week.

Software Developer


We are looking to recruit a Software Developer for our client based in Hull.  This is a full time permanent position working 37 hours per week.

The Software Developer position requires good business understanding with the individual to be responsible for reviewing, analysing and modifying Microsoft-based systems including coding, testing, debugging, installing and documenting. The candidate will need to be motivated and self-managed with ability to prioritise system fixes as business requirements and needs change and will also provide day-to-day first and second line support for 100+ users across multiple sites, for 20+ complex for Microsoft-based systems.

The candidate also needs a meticulous attention to detail with a thorough and dogged approach to testing and documenting everything they change, along with the ability to elicit information from end-users to ensure a full understanding of the problem they've been asked to resolve.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day ad-hoc support for client and in-house Microsoft-based business systems
  • Find and fix software issues, before end-users notice them
  • Improve the scalability, flexibility & efficiency of existing systems
  • To become subject matter expert (SME) for each supported in-house system under their control
  • To ensure change control is adhered to for all database systems under their control
  • Ensure all systems are documented
  • Support end-users with general reporting and minor modification development of systems
  • Support end-users with Microsoft Office with regards to data manipulation and reporting
  • Support projects with data cleansing, manipulation and reporting
  • Develop approved business support systems
  • Support information management and database integration to reduce silo systems
  • Design & execution of test plans.


  • ASP.Net, C# and/or VB.Net, VBScript
  • VBA, MS Access SQL queries and data normalisation
  • Experienced Excel user including data manipulation, pivot tables, and writing custom functions using VBA
  • Experience in MS Office (various versions)
  • MS Access.


  • Software Developer with skills in all areas of system development, including ASP.Net, C# and/or VB.Net, VBScript, VBA, MS Access SQL queries, and data normalisation
  • Experience developing business reporting databases and information management systems
  • Experience in Office 2007-2013, including 32-and 64-bit variants.

Skills & Competencies

  • Understanding of systems development lifecycle, from gathering requirements, building functional specifications and business cases, to actually designing, building, testing and supporting the systems
  • Some systems analyst capability to see the "big picture" when designing and developing systems
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Willingness to work "out of hours" as needed
  • Team player, who is approachable, and works well under pressure and on own initiative
