Civil/Structural Designers

List is seeking 2 Civil/Structural Designers to join an established multi-discipline team within a major engineering contractor project office, serving prestigious clients in the Humber region.

The position is mainly office based with some visits required to client sites and other company offices.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Developing basic and detailed designs, including RC detail design
  • Ensure any variations are highlighted and the Lead Engineer is notified
  • Liaise with other disciplines to resolve interface issues
  • Ensure the timely completion of all project design tasks
  • Ensure all project documents are prepared in accordance with company SOPs
  • Provide technical assistance within the project team as necessary

Essential Education & Experience

  • Minimum HNC in relevant discipline
  • Experience of RC detail design is essential
  • Experience in the use of 3D drawing packages
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
  • Must be capable of understanding civil & structural engineering principles

Desirable

  • Working towards or approaching Member status with ICE and/or IStructE
  • Minimum 5 year engineering experience of projects in the Process Sector
  • Conversant in the use of STAADPro or similar, for both Steel & RC design

Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an Electrical Designer / Engineer with HV experience to work within a team responsible for the execution of major capital projects at a prestigious company in North East Lincolnshire.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Company engineering requirements are properly implemented.
  • Provide technical support field of expertise in support of operations and the development of new projects.
  • Provide support and guidance to design personnel in production of drawings and specifications. Ensure these are produced to Company Standards without error and to an agreed schedule.
  • Co-ordinate and own activities with that of others to ensure design packages are completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide a focal point between the Project Contractor, Vendors (which may include Equipment suppliers and/or sub-contractors to the main engineering/construction contractors), Project Team and Records Group.
  • Ensure all site measurement and investigation work is accomplished to ensure design allows for safe and economic construction.
  • Provide feedback at the end of the Project to ensure any possible improvements to the Standards and/or Procedures are captured for inclusion in future Projects.

Specific Duties

  • Provide expertise to Project to enable estimates, studies, and design and construction functions to be fulfilled.
  • Review scope of works for the Project to ensure it is clearly understood, highlighting any uncertainties or omissions.
  • Be actively involved with any subsequent queries and discussions in establishing an accurate scope and understanding.
  • Produce specifications as required to support projects.
  • Produce calculations as required to support projects.
  • Assist in generation of cost estimates for chartered projects.
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship between the Project Team and personnel.
  • Ensure all designs & documentation (including vendor & manufacturer supplied information and inspection documentation) comply with standards and requirements.
  • Maintain a full Project history "file" documenting written and verbal instructions.
